Mid-19th Century Plains Catlinite Pipe Bowl | Pewter Inlays | Hand-Carved | Native American Artifact This is a mid-1800s Plains Indian carved Catlinite pipe bowl, featuring inlaid pewter accents — a classic example of skilled Native craftsmanship during the period. The bowl is hand-carved from traditional red pipestone (Catlinite) and remains in good condition, with two small dents in the pewter — one on the right side and one on the front tip of the bowl (see photos for details). The pipe measures approximately: 4 1/4"" long 2 1/8"" tall 1"" outside bowl diameter These pewter-inlaid pipes are increasingly hard to find, especially with the original inlay still present. A strong piece for any collection of Native American artifacts, 19th-century pipes, or early trade period material culture. Details: Origin: Plains Indian Date: Mid-19th century Material: Catlinite with pewter inlay Condition: Good with minor pewter denting Size: 4 1/4"" L x 2 1/8"" H, 1"" bowl diameter
