$U750,00
Large Plains Catlinite Pipe | Four Winds Carving | Circa Late 19th Century | Well-Used & Solid This is a large and well-used Plains catlinite pipe dating to the latter half of the 19th century. The bowl shows honest use but remains in good, solid condition. There are two old repaired cracks — the repairs were done skillfully and the bowl is structurally sound and still usable. The pipe features nicely carved bands at both ends, along with a distinct carved band where the bowl meets the stem. These three carved bands create four convex grooves, likely representing the Four Winds design, a motif often seen in Plains symbolism. Details: Plains-made catlinite pipe Circa late 1800s Large bowl with well-executed carved bands Symbolic four-winds design Two old repaired cracks — stable and well done Solid and functional This is a classic Plains artifact with authentic use and presence, ideal for collectors, museums, or anyone looking for a meaningful piece of Native American material culture.
